About Westminster Village

In the early 1970’s, the thought of a retirement community began to form. The Reverend Phillip Queen of Second Presbyterian Church and Dr. Harold Martin formed a committee to investigate the possibility. Concurrently, a not-for-profit chain of communities, Presbyterian Housing Program (PHP) began investigating possibilities in Central Illinois.

Today, Westminster Village is Bloomington-Normal’s premier Continuing Care Retirement Community. Westminster Village is a locally owned & operated not-for-profit organization that is governed by a Board of Directors comprised of local community members and business leaders.

The Village is situated on a 40+ acre campus filled with beautiful landscaping, outdoor recreation areas, and ample opportunities to celebrate active aging.

Who Are WE?

With over 40 years of experience, The Village has perfected the art of carefree living by managing day-to day tasks such as meals, housekeeping, home maintenance, and transportation to allow Residents more time for the things they enjoy.

Some have a purpose.  We are a collective group who further a passion.

We help people live their lives to the fullest thru the provision of a comprehensive continuum of programs and services.  We’re here to help you live your life to the fullest.

Westminster Village is home for over 400 people who sought to continue a lifestyle, in their later years, that supports continued growth and ones’ aspirations.  A vast continuum of services is provided by over 200 team members.  Regardless of whether a resident is in Independent Living, Assisted Living, Memory Care, or Skilled Nursing Care, our superb team is focused on supporting them in living the life they want to live.

We strive to live out three values.

Our values are not options but calls to action. The circumstances in which we live out our values vary widely but the value is pertinent in each.

Act with Love & Respect in All We Do.
In all interactions we act with love and respect.  In conversations and in actions we show love and respect.  At times of conflict, we display love and respect.  No person has the right to negate the worth of another and any such discrimination will be grounds for disciplinary action.  We lift people up; we don’t tear people down.

Do the Right Thing
While the “right thing” is not always readily known we search for it in all situations. When mistakes happen, we respond by an apology and commitment that we will make it right. This is a commitment that provides an impetus for action and an evaluation tool for the same.

Go Above & Beyond
We aren’t motivated to simply provide basic care and services. We seek the exceptional. The commitment to go above and beyond drives us to think of alternatives to meeting each other’s needs in this community. We listen for the unsaid need and strive to fulfill it.

We value all persons.

The Governing Board of Westminster Village has adopted the following statement for all who live and work here.

Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion
Westminster Village is committed to be a place where all are valued, respected and welcome. The Governing Board seeks diversity, equity and inclusion for all persons associated with Westminster. We are committed to identifying and eliminating acts of racism and other discriminatory practices that may arise within Westminster Village. These efforts will increase the cultural wealth of the organization, an effort that is essential to accomplishing Westminster’s mission. Strategies and operations of the organization shall be continually assessed for their impact on supporting and enhancing the cultural environment of Westminster Village and findings of such assessments shall be regularly communicated to the Governing Board.
