| The ground breaking ceremony for the
remodel/expansion project at Martin Health Center, the skilled nursing
area of Westminster Village, was held on Thursday, May 6, 2010 at 2:00
p.m. in front of Martin Health Center. This new building project will
enhance the lives of the Health Center residents, as well as Staff, by
improving the functionality of several areas and making the whole
building more aesthetically pleasing.
The Martin Health Center will receive a new entrance area with a covered canopy entry, a new reception and waiting area and new offices. The residents rooms and bathrooms will be updated and the dining area will be remodeled and expanded. Also, the physical therapy area will be expanded to include a gym, bathroom, kitchen, office area, storage rooms and redesigned ambulance entry.

The exterior of Martin Health Center will be updates as well as the enclosed walkways that connect Martin Health Center to Westminster Village as well as the walkways that connect the Westminster Village main building to the residents buildings. Speaking at the Martin Health Center ground breaking, were Executive Director, Lynn DeCair, Westminster Village Board of Directors President, Janella Cooley and the Administrator of Martin Health Center, Rhonda Polzin. Other people acknowledged at the ground breaking ceremony were Principle Compliance Director for Legat Architects, Berry DeSimone, who designed the Martin Health Center remodel/expansion project and Vice President of Broeven Russo Builders, Barry Reed, who is in charge of the construction of the project. The 4.7 million dollar project is scheduled to be completed in February 2011. |
